What do you Think About This?

I recently was browsing the internet and came across the blog, Jorvik Journal. Someone reportedly named "Anonymous" posted a comment that I completely agree with.

Anonymous:

In my opinion, the lower level players can not appreciate Harves Counties as much as us old, high level players. They have only just unlocked the other parts of the Silverglade region and the Harvest Counties are going to be just another part of the map area - an ordinary place to visit, like Valedale; whereas Goldenhills requires hard work and dedication to reach, and you can probably agree with me that it was indeed a very rewarding feeling to finally be able to unlock the gate. GHV still holds a special place in my heart and is a peaceful refuge where I can retreat to. I would have loved the HC to be a place like that as well, but it won’t since this is the case. It’s very disappointing but I can't do anything about it. Also, if the lower-level riders are being allowed to ride over the bridge at this early stage interferes with several quests related to the current ones…especially the one with shipping Tin-Can from the Jorvik Stables to the Riding Hall, unless the team has fixed them to fit the situation (and which I doubt with all honesty).

Anastasia Eveningstar later replied to this comment as:

I read your post about the Harvest Counties interview - and yes, I do understand your point and frustration about low level riders being admitted into the new area of the game. They'll still have to work hard to get into the coveted GHV. ;) But I believe that we have to think of the developers too - just like upper level riders have waited years to ride in the new areas, the developers have spent years creating it - they want their hard work to be enjoyed by as many players as possible. :)

Whose side are you on? Let me know in the comments below!!!

Interview Concerning the Release of Harvest Counties!

Interview for the opening of the Harvest Counties!

2013-10-11

In anticipation of the upcoming release of the Harvest Counties we have an interview with Marcus Thorell, the Pixel Tales Game Director who is responsible for Star Stable Online, to answer a few questions about the exciting new area!

Hello Marcus! Thank you for taking the time to speak with us today! We have heard the exciting news that a new area will be opening at the end of October?

- Through the summer and fall the whole team has been working hard to complete the new area on the island in the South-West corner of Jorvik. The new area is called The Harvest Counties and one of the new exciting places you will be able to visit will be the long awaited Jorvik Stables. It is very exciting for the whole team to be able to finally share the Harvest Counties with the players and we hope everyone really likes it!

New area: The Harvest Counties

New area: The Harvest Counties

How big is the new area and what can players expect to find there?

- This is the biggest single addition we have ever made to Star Stable since the game launched and there was an amazing number of things that had to be put in place so that the new area would work well and be a great new game experience! It is very important to us that the players enjoy the new content and we really want to live up to everyone’s expectations. The players will get to enjoy a fantastically beautiful new countryside landscape with rustic buildings and get to meet a bunch of exciting new characters. It has been possible (since the last weekly update) to be able to see how big the new area is on the world map.

The Harvest Counties is filled with new fantastic content. There are a lot of new characters to get to know, lots of brand new buildings to visit, new landscape to explore, and of course the historic city of Jarlaheim. The Harvest Counties even has new custom composed music never heard before in Star Stable. Right from the beginning the players will have access to new exciting quests, a challenging race, lots of new stores, and much more!

Wow! That sounds pretty exciting! Is the main story going to continue here?

- The story is definitely going to continue here when the players become more familiar with the area and get to know the new characters. Exactly how the story will continue, I don’t want to give away here. But I think some of the players who have played through all of the existing quests in the main storyline might have some pretty good guesses about what might happen next…

Which players are going to have access to the Harvest Counties?

- Unlike when we released Golden Hills Valley (where you needed to be level 12 to enter the area) this time we have decided that all Star Riders who are at least Level 4 are going to be able to get in. We want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the beautiful new area right away!

We probably could have guessed there might be quests to do before the players can enter the new area. Can we hint that the broken bridge over the river by Nilmer’s Highland might be involved in that?

- That would be right! We are going to release a group of exciting quests where the players will get to help in repairing the bridge that for now is the only way to get to the Harvest Counties. Everyone is going to want to explore the Harvest Counties on release day so we are going to start the “repair the bridge” quests the week before. If you complete the repair assignments every day during the week you will be able to go straight into the Harvest Counties on opening day. Good luck!

What can we look forward to in the coming year?

- We are looking forward to a very exciting year as Star Stable is going to continue to be developed with new features, more quests, and beautiful horses. The main story is going to continue and the players are going to note that Linda, Alex, Lisa and Anne are going to have more prominent roles. We don’t want to say too much right now, but something big is going to happen!

Thank you for the interview Marcus!
New South Jorvik News!

Hey y'all! Since many people are just DYING to know, I am going to share some of the new buzz regarding "South Jorvik." Many people have mentioned that there are some "viewing points" where you can see what has been added to the South Jorvik side. So after I got some info of where these "viewing points" are, I took Autumn out on a hack to check them out. We followed the Silversong and Southsilver rivers most of the way. While we were out and about, I noticed that if you stick around the coast of "North Jorvik" you can get a nice view of what has been added. Some of the things I've noticed are new fences, rocks, trees, and bushes. Also, if you climb up to the top of the watchtower in Fort Pinta, you will notice that two new lighthouses have also been added.

Although everyone seems to notice what has been added to the other side, no one has paid and attention to what has been happening on the side of Jorvik we know and love. Some new piles of log have appeared in Moorland, Firgrove, and Marley's Farm. (As far as I know.) Could these piles of log end up becoming planks to fix the broken bridge?

What do you want to see when "South Jorvik" comes out? What new horses do you expect to see there? Are you excited about the quests? Let me know in the comments below.

Andalusians and more space in your Home Stable!

Hello! Andalusians have arrived to Jorvik and the space in your Home Stable has increased in this week's update!

New Horses:
- These three beautiful Andalusians have arrived to Silverglade's Equestrian Center. Ride there and check them out! You need to be in level 8 to be able to buy a Andalusian horse.

Beautiful Andalusians!
Beautiful Andalusians!

Stable Space:
- We have increased the number of horses you can keep in your stable and you can now own up to 10 horses!

Coming soon:
- We are happy to announce we are working on a new feature called "Horse Island". Don't have enough room in your stable? Is taking care of all your horses taking up too much time? Horse Island will allow you to send horses on a little vacation! A boat will take your horse out to a beautiful island pasture where they can relax and run free with some new horse friends! This will give you open space in your stable and more time to enjoy the horses you are training actively at the moment. When you want your horse back from the island, simply make sure you have space available in your stable, and at your request your horse will make the trip back fully rested and happy after their vacation. You should never have to sell one of your horses ever again!

Thank you to everyone who sent us their feedback on the stable sizes. Together we can make Star Stable better every day!

Best Regards,
Star Stable Team

Wow! This seems really cool! Some of the scenes look like they're from Star Stable 1. Anyways, I interviewed a couple of people on their thoughts about the newest update!

Me: I can't wait to see what new quest and races come along with this new update. Also, have you noticed a lot of new piles of logs have appeared in Marley's Farm, Firgrove, and Moorland.(I might have missed a few.) Could these become the new planks to fix the broken bridge?

Jasmine: Wow! It sounds really cool!

Bethany Candlehurricane: It's so hard to wait! Ahh!!! I'm counting the days!

Everyone seems really excited! Are you? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for tuning in to this week update!
